Sure, substitutions are nice, but I like to be prepared. I married a boy scout, ya know! Remember...a well-stocked pantry is useless if you don't rotate your stock. No, you can't keep Crisco for four years...at least, I wouldn't. Make sure you use what you have and replace it. Always use the older stuff first. This is what my pantry ALWAYS has in it, and what I think everyone should have on hand. This is an all-inclusive list, but buy only what you use.
